Default AEM CAI or Comptech Icebox

Which for an 02 V6? Are either loud (under normal driving)?

I had the AEM CAI on my accord and it definatly improves the way the enigne sounds. Under normal driving conditions it sounds very good. I am looking to sell mine as I dont have my accord any more. Give me a resonable offer and I will sell it to you if you would like.

Any other basic mods that make a real difference? Any pics of the AEM? Any other goodies for sale?

is the AEM CAI prone to getting water during rains? I havent seen the set up. I might just go with a Weapon R intake

It's not too bad unless your fender lining is torn off, really. Like mine was. My poor hydrolocked engine. Threw a rod.

Keep it covered and get the bypass valve and you should be okay.

mine has been fine as well and i have had mine for almost a year now i have a 2001 v6 and i really like the gains from the CAI and i didn't notice a large difference from with and without the bypass valve.

Sorry it took me so long to respond but no I dont have any other goodies for sale (for an accord anyways) but other good mods are exhaust and headers. I will take some pics of the intake tomorrow as it is my day off and email them to you if you would like. I should also get them hosted somewhere shouldnt I.

Holy crap! I've never seen fixhondas actually ask a question. He always answers them. I'm not trying to be a smartass, but I honestly thought he knew everything.

Thaks for the compliment, but no one knows everything. I have not been into Accord V6 performance - mostly civics. I just purchased an 02 v6 before the shitty and ugly 03's come out and I wanted to get some opinions on a few things. I don't want it to be a race car, just looking for suttle improvement without making a bunch of noise or spending alot of money. This is our "luxury" (LOL) car and I don't want it to be annoying in any way. More power is always welcome but you have to be gentle with these V6 transmissions- The wife is driving it mostly. Never thought I would own an automatic! I must be getting old! Thanks for the input folks!

I say go with the Comptech Ice Box. It has been race track proven (Roger Foo's EG) and it follows the same basic design of the factory air box, except for the fact that it is much more free flowing.

I would also think that the IceBox would be more quiet, simply because the filter is not exposed. You'll have less intake honk.
