AEM Cam Gear Install on 5th gen
So while i was doing my timing belt, i decided to install a set of aem cam gears i had laying around for awhile now.
As i took off the stock cam gears, i noticed that there was a slot in the camshaft
that lines up the cam gear. The key the slides into that groove on the camshaft
is part of the cam gear.
Now the problem is, the aem cam gears isnt like that stock ones, its missing
the keys, and i can use the stock ones, cause they're part of the stock cam gears.
Am I suppose to get them off another vehicle?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Yep.
Yep.
and why would you say that?
You dont even know why I'm using them?
I got them because im going FI and using them to help eliminate overlap.
$100 for cam gears, why not.

I have never looked at after market cam gears as "light weight" to reduce rotational mass... The only reason I would purchase cam gears it for fine tuning cam timing.
