don't mean to knock your thread but this is on hp's recall list and i hate to see people go through the mess...i work for an hp and compaq repair center as a technician and deal with this stuff all the time...

thats no bullshit!! Thanks for posting that, I had the SAME exact problems with mine, it always felt like it was overheating then my wifi died. Then I had to send it back to compaq, very easy and no problem to do. little bit of a hassle, but i have no more overheating problem and it works perfect! I didn't know it was that widespread of a problem to have a recall though...

Other than that, the laptop compaq/HP series are great!

If you wanted to sell it for alittle less, I wouldn't mind getting a second laptop for travelling...My V6000 was 600 dollars brand new...

ok i was going to leave my words left alone but now i am going to elaborate...
all know that what i posted is useful and if you were a humble seller that knew this information from the getko, you would of posted that in your first post...then again i'm sure other's wonder why you have so many points doc'ed off of you after only being a user for not even a year and a half
you might want to take a picture of the real model number; on the monitor it just specifies the model series
the real model and serial number is posted on the bottom(white sticker)...
top line should be product number, line under that should be
serial number, line under that should be a horizontal line followed by
the real model number

it is possible that it is a dv2000us but most likely not unless you ordered it directly from hp

ive had a couple hp and compaq laptops and liked them... nice products

lmike6453 good lookin out on the recall info.really shouldnt be an issue though since it is something HP will do for free. wose comes to worse for the seller he can send it to have the recall work done then the item can be sold w no worries
