Default cleaning type r seats.

I'm just wondering how do you maintain your interior clean. I need to know what you guys use to clean the suede. I will gladly appreciate your info.

Thanks June.

Here's a good site for info on the alacantra material on the Type R seats.

Good stuff. Quoting from the maintenance recommendations on their site:

Maintenance

Its easy maintenance is one of Alcantara®'s greatest advantages.

Soap and water is all it takes to renew Alcantara®'s splendor, the brilliance of its colors, its elegant finish.

Alcantara®'s beauty and quality remain intact, just like new, for a very long time.

Washing Instructions

- Extensive soiling or spots may require the entire cover to be washed.

- Removable covers: Removable Alcantara® covers are very easy to clean, and can be safely washed with water in the washing machine set at 30º. To maintain the original freshness of the fabric, brush it with a soft brush once it has been washed. If the upholstery is fitted with Velcro, cover each piece with a Velcro cover.

- Non-removable covers: Non-removable Alcantara® covers can be cleaned with soap and water. Avoid using solvents (particularly perchloroethyene and trichlorethylene) and contact with steam cleaners. The use of "spray extraction" upholstery cleaners is acceptable at low temperatures.

Spots and stains

In the case of persistent stains, there are only a few simple steps to follow to return Alcantara to its original beauty.

- Treat fresh stains immediately, working at the stain towards the center to avoid spreading and watermarks.

- Remove as much of the staining material as possible with a knife or spoon. Dab immediately with a clean cloth.

- Treat each stain according to the method recommended.

- The area immediately surrounding the stain should be dabbed gently with a clean sponge or paper towel.

- In any case, it is absolutely necessary to rinse the area very well to remove any traces of detergent.

- It is important not to scrub the stain, as too much force could cause irreversible alterations to the fabric's surface.

For small spots, the following treatments are recommended:

- Beer, egg, milk - Treat with a solution of mild detergent. Rinse.

- Blood - Use a solution of water and mild detergent. If spots have dried, repeat the treatment several times.

- Fruit juice, fruit, vegetable matter, jam, gelatin, syrup, ketchup, coffee, tea - Use a solution of water and mild detergent. Treat colored spots with lemon juice. Rinse well.

- Cocoa, chocolate - Wash with a sudsy, mild soap. Rinse with water.

- Chewing-gum - Treat with colorless ethyl alcohol and remove by hand or use a spatula.

- Ballpoint pen, felt-tip pen, lipstick, shoe polish, oil, grease - Dissolve with colorless ethyl alcohol, dab wit a cloth and treat with a solution of mild detergent. Rinse well.

- Mustard, wine, liqueur - Wash with a solution of mild detergent. Treat with lemon juice, rinse well.

Is there any special instructions for the cloth parts of the seat? Any specific shampoo, etc.?
