Default What's happening to my rotors?

Has anyone experienced this before?

This is in the rear, and they are doing it on both the left and the right, but I haven't checked the insides. There is a layer of metal that is coming off, exposing the untouched metal underneath. It isn't just flaking off, but a lttle pressure with a chisel was able to create the large spot shown here.

55K miles on them, with stock pads most of the time, and Panthers (not P+) for a couple track events. Overheating? Aggressive pads? Glazing?

Thanks.

Looks like pad material transfer to me...but you say its metal coming off. That would be something I've never seen before.

Have you tried sanding them with some emory cloth?

I tried sanding by hand with some heavy grit paper, and it didn't do much. It took a chisel to work some of it off. I suppose it could be pad material, but the outer surface is shiney, like a normal rotor surface, and the surface underneath is dull.

Here's another pic.

Pagids kinda do this, although not to that degree. They transfer material to the rotor, and it makes the pad grab the rotor better.

I dunno why yours look like that though. Really odd considering they are the rears.

Ever find the right part number for the rears from Autozone?
I noticed some stress cracks in my FR rotor yesterday, for the very first time.

That is how my front rotors looked after the HypeRfest on Jefferson Circuit. I'm using Hawk HP+ front and rear, but my rotors are only 1 month old and have 3 track days on them. Good thing they only cost me like $23each from Autozone.
