Looks like some of the flange welds are undercut in a couple of places, other than that it looks pretty good!

looks good.

i have only 2 things to say.

1. it looks as if it the welds got a little hot, as the haz goes out pretty far. now was this something planned for looks or what?

2, the welds on the headflange could use some work tieing them into the flange and pipe a bit better.

but other then those 2 minor things

looks good to me. i'd try to weld the inside of the head flange to pipe and the inside of the wg to collector joints.

Overall looks pretty nice.....only real downside is the inside of the collector.

Doesn't look too hot to me. You guys must be used to seeing cold welds that have no penetration on these thick weld els/pipes.

Looking good, OP. Keep practicing and keep up the good work.

haz is usually a pretty good sign of the amount of heat used. you don't get color that far out with out using more heat.

oh and my welds are never cold and always have 100% penitration on a pipe to pipe weld. if you were refering to me....

ya its backpurged. the collector isnt welded because gases flow off a sharp edge better than a rounded egde. think about the teardrop shape. my buddy took the pics and didnt get any good ones of the collector. it has been ported with a dye grider and a carbide bur and is very smooth inside. i think what your seeing is the grind marks from the bur.

First manifold ever or just ramhorn? Whatever it maybe that looks good to be your first! The welds are pretty consistent.

I'm not trying to split hairs, but please, I don't need the common sense armchair fluid dynamics e-lesson about teardrops.

I looked at the inside picture and the seperation on the right is what I'm referring to.

You can weld inside the collector without "rounding" edges. I'm not saying it's even absolutely necessary if your welds are well penetrated, I'm just saying that you asked for my opinion in an opened forum, and I gave it.

does the turbo flange need to be angled slightly for the turbo to clear the block?

I dont think anyone intended to be overly picky about anything. Just know that without any sort of constructive criticism, he'll never improve. He asked for opinions and got them...
