got my REX back!
Finally I got the REX/beater/DD back...here's some pix just to give you an idea (just a beater/DD for now?
not the best looking
but hopefully she'll take care of me and I'll take care of her
old photos anyways

swap: got a d16y7 block with 90-91 civic/crx si tranny? with SI ECU...compared to the stock HF engine waaaay better!
pulls pretty strong! even compared to my 95 coupe (ex-stock) it's pretty quick now! hitting 80+ is even kinda a little scary now with the new tranny and motor and cuz it's so light but when I had the HF motor 80+ or 90mph was nothing
OLD POS engine cylinder went on me!

here's the new engine much better

ANYWAYS need some help now....
1. new tranny: clutch keeps slipping on me is there anything I can do to fix this from slipping? First time I got her back half way home it slipped on me so took/pulled her back to get it adjusted but seems like it might be a problem/might slip again? seems like....any suggestions? I try to turn it to the tightest I can but like I said it seems like it might slip any time again....RED arrow....

I guess that's the most important thing for now....I opt to keep the AC so was told to use maybe 94-96 civic belt but might/ might not fit so could use the help if anyone did the same as me that kept their AC
Also fan/cooling came on but seems like it never dies...radiator looks decent still but seems like it's not cooling so fan doesn't dies any idea or what should I check/do?
and I've got no intake so I guess I'll try to see if I can get a stock box from 88-91 civic? cuz I think that's waht manifold I have? I believe if not I guess i'll get some cheap after market 88-91 intake system...just my beater anyway
well let me know TIA
ALSO when I bought the engine it didn't have stock headers what headers are these anyone know? I wnat to maybe put my new exhaust (sp2) on it and want to make sure it'll fit or if I have to go get it weld....
OOH last thing saw some cheap generic rims for sale but they are from an accords do they still fit to the REX with no prob. if I buy them ? if they;re not sold yet?

adjusting the clutch cable isnt about tightening it as much as you can!
To adjust the cable tighten it until the release arm (the arm attached to the cable) has a tiny bit of wiggle room (1/32"-1/8"), meaning that you should be able to lift up on the arm a tiny bit before it gets hard to lift.
If you over tighten the cable your cluch will wear out faster.
I take it that your clutch is not new. I would have replaced it before putting the swap in.
Theres not much you can do to save a bad clutch.
and is the car overheating or is the fan just not shutting off?
your header looks pretty stock, its just missing the heat sheild.

I guess I relized that
BUT when it keeps slipping/seem like it'll slip again that's all I can do no? I know-I know
....I asked the shop to see if the clutch is bad or not and if it is i rather get a new clutch tho I didn't want to spend a lot but if i need one I'll pay for it but guess they thought clucth is still good? So that why? beats me? I rather just get a new clutch...i'll probably have to call them back and see how much meat is left on the clutch they used
but I will see if I did tighten it too much or not with the arm thingy...
as far as header yeah i know it's stock but which one is it you know? cuz I bought the block w/o header from a local guy so...or guess I'll have to just call back with a bunch of question
which I thought they should have told me what it is they did/used and etc. but looks like they rather I go in so they can have my bussiness
and not do it myself?
I don;t think the car is overheating don't seem like it but just not shutting off i guess...cuz with old stock HF motor took a while (like 10min?) to cooled down but it cooled down and shut off so...?

last i checked, accord rims will NOT fit civics/crx. the bolt pattern is larger.
you want to loosen that cable adjustment, not tighten, until there is just a little slack. if it still slips, get a clutch.
is the fan on when you first start the car, before it's warmed up?

Tightening a slipping clutch is opposite what you should be doing.
In essence, if you could keep tightening that cable you would eventually fully disengage the clutch, as if you had your foot on the pedal.
Loosen it until you can wiggle the arm a bit. I always go for an audible click or tapping noise when moving the arm up and down as you can hear the throwout bearing making contact with the pressure plate.

Honda accord rims are 110x4 while civic/crx are 110x4.
For your clutch line popping off replace the cable or use 2 small hose clamps to fix it. I've broken 4 clutch cables, because of the stage 3 6 pluck more stress on the cable.
It's the plastic threads which are the gayest part about the cable clutch line.

I think you mean: accord - 4 x 114
civic/crx - 4 x 100

I should have said do they fit as in bolt pattern wise like switching rims
But think they're sold? anyways though if i did wanted them badly cuz they're cheap and look decent couldn't I just use lug nuts with bigger end sittings? oh welll......

Just my DD/beater good enough...should I get rid of my AC too for more HP
j/k
AS far as the cable I guess I won't tighten it that tight but enough and if it keeps slipping maybe I'll do the small climps
or look into getting new cable which I would find exactually where? plastic thread don;t look that bad but guess it's starting to? I should have just told them to get me a new clucth
zrickety.......at first I though it was just coming on and just wasn't shutting off but I guess when i start it-it comes on and doesn't shut off, cuz I waited like 10-15min until I couldn't? Not sure if it shuts off when i'm driving, guess it doesn't....but yeah comes on and doesn't shuts off it seems

the pattern is wider on the accord rims...they won't fit on the car at all.
if the fan is on all the time you may have a bad relay or a bad temperature switch. maybe even the ecu, i don't know. does turning off the a/c affect the fan?

why not just buy a new clutch instead of having it go out on you then you spend more on a tow then it is to buy a new clutch and put it in your self. thats just common sense, your about not spending your money it seems, but what good does it do to drive your car and making the clutch worse?

I think I will just get a new clutch if I have another problem with it....I tighten it but not too tight, drove it around seems fine hopefully it stays that way
Like I said I told them if the clutch is bad let me know I rather get a new clutch but I guess clucth was still okay? I don't know-I wouldn't have mind spending the money on a clucth....but anyways hopefully that will be all good
as far as tow truck or whatever heck nawh! I just just use my bros 4dr civic to pull it and he steer
I mean REX isn;t that heavy and I even pushed it myself to the side when clutch first slipped on me by myself thanks
...and hopefully that'll be the only time

Okay thanks....must be I guess? but yeah comes on when I start it and doesn't stop when I'm not moving/driving so i guess it stays on when I driving too? ECU? could be too maybe? Did get rid of the HF ECU and got the SI ECU....???
well turning on the AC? I don't have a belt for it cuz it's the HF AC compressor etc bolted to the y7 block so was told I will need a belt NOT one for 91 crx/civic? not one for 98 civic(engine year) but something in between like maybe 92-95 or whatnot maybe almost custom it to fit?
THEN i can have my AC otherwise it's just blowing ouside air.....

well had the chance to go back to the shop asked a few question and as far as the radiator fan not shutting off...they said they had put it that way so that engine won't run hot so I guess I'll just have to get use to it, if not maybe I'll see if I can get it to running normal again?...otherwise runs great pulls pretty hard for a non-vtec sohc with it being so light of course...starting to like it tho she doens't look the best
freaken hit a bird probably killed it at 70~80mph hit top front windshield then flew to the drivers side window and took off my panel door trim thingy

Cable tranny seems fine now...no slips or anything it seems so hopefully everything is all good....THANKS for the help/post everyone!
