There's the link to the audio. Started making this noise on and off a a month or so ago. Sounds like its right in front of me. Like a bad intermediate shaft bearing, axle cv or something in that area.

Thought just occured to me it could be in the dash, but it's so hard to pinpoint. Any chance it could be the VSS cable?

BTW, it's only with the vehicle moving. Engine RPM does not play any facgtor at all. Also, at low speeds(parking lot) it will sometimes do it and it's easy to hear it makes the noise once to revolution.

ANY ideas could possibly save my sanity!

funny noise? you gotta be sure if its coming from the engine bay. If the noise stops once you put it in neutral then you can rule out the transmission. Loud Clicking can also come from a bad axel.

Yeah it's one of those noises you just can't put your thumb on. One minute it sounds like it's in the dash, then the next time I'll swear it's an axle.

So far I've done front bearings and brake pads, as well as making quadruple sure the dust shield on the hub was clear of the rotor. Axles are maybe two years old. I wish the noise was more pronounced so I could atleast pinpoint it.

I'll try disconnecting the vss from the trans and see what happens.
