Changing rear brake shoes, and general questions
2000 Accord SE, 4 cyl, 2.3 VTEC. I have a manual, but I'm in the process of moving and packed it up accidentally. I am more familiar with disc brakes and have only done drum brakes once; and not a great job at that. I replaced the rear wheel bearings recently and it appears that the shoes are easy to change, but I don't have any pics or manual to go by. Can anyone give me a brief overview and some pitfalls to avoid? Do I need to adjust the brakes when I'm done, or are they self-adjusting? How about the e-brake? Do I need to let off on the cable a bit to get the shoes in?
TIA,

take both drums off at the same time, but leave the brakes alone on one side so you can look at them while trying to do the other side.
the parking brake must be off for the whole time.
you will turn the adjusters using a screwdriver to tighten them before putting the drums back on. You should wind up with a just a very slight drag. try hitting the brake pedal (only when both drums are on the car or else you'll blow out the pistons!!!) to help the new shoes line up and center themselves and then check for proper adjustment again by turning the drums by hand. I usually cycle the parking brake a few times too before I finish.
