Been in a Hyundai made w/in the last couple of years? They are pretty much on par with japanese cars at this point, offer lots of features and decent performance for a low price, and have a great warranty.

Let's see, you could spend $23k on a 197hp fwd Civic Si; or you could spend the same amount for a 300hp RWD Genesis Coup...

Yea, I heard that they are going to de-tune the turbo motor to seperate it from the buyer of the V6 model (making the V6 more of a premium car). But, I also heard that the I-4 Turbo motor is built to withstand up to around 25psi.

If I were to get one, I would get the de-tuned turbo motor, and buy a boost controller to put the V6 to shame. And it would be nice to have a turbo, RWD coupe with a 10year/100,000mile warrantee

Or, buy a cheaper civic, swap it, boost it, do whatever you want, you'll still not gone over 10k and you're talking the same numbers as that car. And you'll get added experience from the fun time of building your car.

typical h-t thinking.

no offense, but anyone interested in really buying this ~300HP RWD coupe wouldn't be interested in a swapped civic....

cuz by your logic, no car works, because i can build a civic to X amount of HP

And plus, not everybody wants some loud *** Civic that could very well get a lot of attention from the cops. Some people want a fast DD with A/C and all that.

And then you have a cop-magnet, theft-magnet, unsafe, rattletrap 15 year old economy car with no traction in the first 2 gears and as much sex appeal as a can of beans.

I'd be willing to bet that the twin turbo 2.0 is being developed for countries where cars are taxed based on engine discplacement. They wouldn't give us that AND the 300HP V6. It wouldn't make sense.

a crx with k20 buyer will not cross purchase a new 300hp korean car

it just matter of time before you all grow out of swaps and hacks because you have more important thing in life than worrying about getting jacked, or getting hustle by popo.

looks like a killer combo we all been barking to, it just the japanese never release one

Were still talking less money, around the same power. I didn't say a cop/theft magnet, because If I were to put 10,000 into a civic, it would be ALL on the motor, the exterior would stay stock, just because it would fool quite a lot of people.

im glad you want to put 10k into your egs motor, but the truth of the matter is civics are like THE most common stolen car...
oh and RWD>FWD

If you are going just on that get a motorcycle. $4k for a used 600 that runs 10's stock.

Or for $10k you could make a ridiculously fast mustang or camaro, but that's not the point.

hey i work at a hyundai dealer.. actually im here right now..

hyundai builds GREAT cars now adays.. im not just saying that either.. they have really grown up as a company. They are up there in the standings as one of the best automakers in the world.

Even if it has a hyundai badge.. show respect where its due.. its a badass car.. and hyundai WILL price it right.. just like every other car they make..

If the build quality is there it could very well be the next LS400--catch all the big boys off guard with a competitive luxury car at 3/4 the price.

hyundai's builds are excellent.

honestly

take yourself to the hyundai dealer

go drive yourself a new sonata v6, or a new azera.

then come back and report on how you were impressed

Hyundai use Mitsubishi engines with their own implementations.

As for the '' I hope they have high end like evos & sti'' eh the previous 2.0L rally inspired cars have peak TQ at low rpms and it drops off (in reference to 4g63) The 4b11 is a new wonder.
