The quest for the best sounding muffler that doesn't rob power
Hey guys i'm looking for a muffler for my N/A EG hatch for the street. Problem is I want something this is quiet and not restritive.
In the past I have fun a stock Type R muffler and it was quiet but a pain in the *** to fit on my EG and it was heavy.
I'm hoping to get some feedback.

Well thats a tough question because sound will vary depending on one's setup! engine, exhaust diameter, header, cat, & resonator all play a role in how an exhaust will sound...I'd suggest getting something straight through w/ a 14" or so resonator.
Check out Kteller.com they have some nice mufflers to choose from.

i have a Tanabe hyper medallion cat back.
looks stock on my EF b20 and is pretty quiet (the intake is louder lol)
near 2.5 bore all the way through (though the racing i had tapered in loads down to about 1.75 inches on the rear section....go figure lol)

That is a problem. I just depends on how you define quiet. A lot of people will say their Honda/Acura exhaust has a deep sound. A Mustang with a V8 is deep, a Honda is not. Just depends on how you define it.
Run a cat, because it's legal and the right thing to do. This will help wiht some of the raspiness, run a long resonator and the biggest muffler you can, or an offset muffler. I plan to try out a new style Magnaflow very soon.

If I'm not cruising on the highway, my SMSP race exhaust is quiet. I have a tolerance for loudness though.
If you're doing it for your sanity, keep a stock exhaust. Power difference won't matter daily. If you're doing it for legality, it doesn't matter what you run. If the cops can hear it, they can ticket you.

with something like ws2 or anything similiar with a resonator should be good enough, as far as power, i dont know about that one, but seeing that it would be some what of a straight pipe then i guess u should still have some power there
