Default 89 ef wiring problem????

I just did a z6 swap to a 89 si ef and cut the distributor wires and wired up the new distributor. When I went to crank the car it threw a TDC code 8. So I started messing around and I unplugged the orange wire for the CYP and the car started and just bogged like it would if the cyp was bad. Now the car doesn't have the code 8 but only if I disconnect the orange wire to the cyp. I was wondering if anyone has ever ran into this problem and what would be the corrective action to take to fix it???????????????

yeah I found out what was wrong with it... I just hooked the cyp sensor back up repined my jumper harness that I had laying around and stuck a d15b computer in it and it runs perfect now. I read somewhere this morning that the distributor won't work with an obdo computer and that is the only thing that I could have though of.
