alternator good, car still dieing help! 96ek
hey well my car battery keeps dieing i got a 96 civic coupe with a b18c in it, so i got it started and pulled the battery cable off and it died so i though ti was the alternator, so i put sohc alt on it and it still would not stay started with the battery cables off or stay running with the lights on, so i took them both to auto zone, and got them tested, the both passed as good, so i used an old harness and ran the cable from the alt to the fuse box, and its still not holding a charge, can someone please help me out with any ideas thanks
Check whether fuse 15, 41, or 42 is blown. In the future, avoid disconnecting the battery when the engine is running as it could potentially damage the electrical system.
yes battery is in stock location, and thanks ill check them fueses in the morning i had to get drunk cause this is making me sad, thanks guys if anyone else has any input let me know thanks
sorry to be nubish but how do i count the fues spots, i just rememberd i dont have a lid that tells where there at, anyone got a picture of the fuse lay out with the numbers of location, thanks

battery could be beat, connection between alt and batt might not be great, check neg/ground from batt to chassis for drain with a voltmeter <-- prolly your best bet
it was fuse 15, ! thanks but now i think my ecu is shorted out? car runs but not good, and it wont let me check codes, and the scan tools not working eather! help!
Check whether the 7.5A BACKUP fuse under the hood is blown. If it is blown, it would be prudent to check all your fuses before proceeding further.
i checked the fuse, its good, im running a p73 ecu now, i put my stock single ecu in it was like a p2p or something i think, but anyways, i just clicked the key over and the cel was working with it, but not my p73, think maybe i fryed the ecu?
Yeah, removing the battery cables when the engine is running can cause damaging surges in the electrical system. Avoid doing this in the future.
hey i tryed a new ecu today, and still nothing? i checked all my fuses my SRS fuse was blowin i put a new one in, and it blow again, and i put one more in and it healed now, but my ecu still wont read codes, i pulled my speed sensor off, and it throw code 17, but when i put it back on it throws a CEL light, and wont read any codes, and autozones scan tool wont read eather, if i run my p73 ecu it runs lean, if i run my p2p stock sohc it runs rich, and it throws all kinds of codes, any ideas?
