When I start my car, it does a weird idling deal. The engine idle fluctuates between 1 and 1.5 rpms. I'm not really sure what the deal is but I did talk to this mechanic who told me that one way to fix it was to turn the car on for five seconds(not start it) and then off for five seconds and the repeat the cycle five times. i do this and the idle is steady until I drive the car and then as soon as I come to a stop again, the same problem starts over. Any suggestions on what the problem might be or why its doing this?

 

your IACV may be toast.

unfortunately, there are other things that could be the issue as well other than the IACV...

 

I had the same problem on my DD GSR a couple of years ago and it ended up being one of the sensors on the throttle body. I had to replace the TB, but I have not had the problem since.

 

what mods do u have?

 

Mine was recently doing a weird flucuating idle. I took the trottle body off and cleaned it and took the IACV off and cleaned it as well. Idle is good to go now
