Never posted in here... Project "Turd Polish" - '90 STD hatch
This is basically a rip from my local forum, so if it doesn't make sense, just check out the boring pics of my boring DD beast.
So, with the EVO being down again and me owning the Civic now, I decided to spend a little cash on the STD for fun.
I already replaced the steelies with some HX wheels a while back, and it's lowered on some mystery springs (eBay, no doubt), and while I dug the way it looked, it needed more. I ordered a lip off of eBay for a Jetta and it lined right up and cleaned up the car overall. Pony-Boy Nick brought up a MPG point, and I can only hope he's right. I'm at 390mi on a single tank (12gal) right now, my previous best was ~375. I don't know if it's because of the super-trick aero part or the fact that I changed the plugs and oil last week. My money's on the aero.
The stock bumper lenses were had seal issues and always leaked and got condensation in them so I turned, yet again, to a budget tuner's BFF - eBay. Ordered some clear bumper lenses which I hope to be able to retrofit with the stock amber insert ( :x ) so that they aren't too show for school. While I was at it I grabbed some super-mad-tyte-JDM-styled amber corners.
The stock 1990 Civic steering wheel is probably 17" in diameter. Not clean. Seeing as to how the EVO isn't getting driven around and it's got the best wheel ever (330mm Personal Neo-Grinta suede), I picked up a famed $3.99+$20 shipping steering wheels hub from you guessed it, eBay. The plan is to get a an NRG v.1.5 QR just like the EVO has so I can rock the same wheel for both cars.
I have to thank Bird for giving me THE SICKEST shift **** ever. Our lady of Guadalupe sealed beautifully inside an acrylic dome that is ever so comfortable to grip. Word up, Mary.
Next on the list of "must haves" is a factory cluster w/tach (found), a DC2 center console and armrest so that I can stop wedging my drinks in between the seat and e-brake and have a place to rest my pointy elbows, and a passenger side mirror so that I can stop cutting people off.
Be sure to check back for updates!

UPDATE - 5/2/08
Got my eBay hub and clear bumper lights in the mail today.
I threw the wheels on just because, I'm going to hold off on picking up another QR because money's getting a little tight and I can't seem to justify it right now, nor should I. The size difference between the 330mm Personal and the stock STD wheel is insane, I took it around the block real quick and it's like driving a different car.
The eBay clears worked out just like I hoped. Threw the stock amber inserts in the eBay clears and I think they look great, albeit just a little too "clear" for me. If that makes any sense... :hsugh:
I also got froggy and tilted my wing last night. It was more out of "curiosity of how it's done" turning into "doing it" more than anything. All in all I like the look, so I'll keep it.

It sucks, the rest of the interior is MINT, but I'm going to try and throw my stock EVO seats in this bitch.

It'll get some, but nothing crazy, the EVO is the fun car so it steals all my attention/moneis.

I hadn't heard that until they were already on the car, but when I put the lugs on it seemed like the HX's had the proper seat for them. I could be totally wrong though and I intend to check it out further this weekend.

Thanks, I'm running a "no axleback"...
The car came without one and I haven't gotten to it yet. It's really not that annoying except for highway speed in gear deceleration. Still unsure if I want a tiny stock one, a custom decent one or an Invidia.
