i know this should be in the paint/body forum... but it lags. and i searched...

im repainting my hood with some AZ duplicolor spray paint. this is like the 5th time ive painted it and it always turns out like ****. theres darker spots and lines all the time. my question is, is it a good idea to lightly sand it after painting it with like 1k-2k grit paper?? or wet sand it?

I was planning on sanding both the paint and clear.
