car jerking please help
Recently i noticed on my 2001 gsr jerks while staying at constant speeds and sometimes while accelerating. I have a mild all motor build. Action clutch and fidanza flywheel installed less than 3000 miles ago. The car just recently started doing this. Could it be my tps? Plugs, wire, and cap and rotor replaced. Please help. Thank you.
dude the only thing i say it would be in your clutch but you said you just replaced it.... maybe you should check the clutch out and see if its working right...
or check fuel system..
whatever it is just good luck

bump cleaned the iacv, checked plugs, sprayed brake cleaner on vacuum lines, nuthing. could it be my tps? i have no idea its really pissing me off tho. Please anybody. Thanks
My mild n.a gsr would jerk or bog as if fuel was cutting when at certain speeds or when i would accelerate. not to later i pulled a cell it was my tps i pulled out the plug and sprayed it with electrical plug cleaner spray from walmart and it fixed the prob. try cleaning it, it might work!

might hve a distributor on its way out , i have the same issue now. ill be driving and the car bucks for no reason . but mine is alot worse , at a red light the rpm drop to 200 and the car barely runs. my problem turned out to be the distributor, and ya im to broke to fix it ,
cool thanks ill try spraying my tps sensor with that spray. as far as the dizzy i just replaced the cap and rotor. i dont know too much about the dizzy is there another component i can replace.
This could also be a fuel problem try checking your filter it might be somewhat clogged......and in rare cases your fuel pump may be losing pressure and well that would suck too.....

im having the same problem..something is causing it to run rich at idle. and causes the jerk too at constant speeds under 4k. its not real bad but worse when the car is cold. i replaced O2 with an almost new one from my other car, fairly new 16 injectors, new caty, new wires/plugs/cap/rotor/timgin belt/water pump/head gasket/arp head studs, fuel filter, air filter. whatever is causing this on my car is causing it to not pass smog..its pissing me off. im guessin its either a vacuum hose or the TPS/IACV .... not sure yet but im looking for answers so i dont spend cash that doesnt need to be spent. I have no CEL so far so im skeptical about it being a bad sensor..maybe it needs cleaning .
Changed the throttle body. Nuthing. Changed the fuel filter nothing. I have new wires, plugs, cap, rotor, fuel pump, injectors. The only thing i can think of it being is my clutch or flywheel. I happens unnder 4k also. I have no codes. Really pissed its so annoying.
Im also having the same problem with my integra, only my tack also goes crazy along with the jerking. and it only does it in cold wet weather. I replaced my fuel filter and the problem went away for about two weeks then started again. I have not checked it for distributor codes yet.
My friends civic also had a similar prob, he ended up having two disrtibutor codes so he bought a new one and that fixed his prob. we also checked for signs of disrtibutor failure on the internet and one symptom was the jerking.
Im going to try my luck with the distributor once another friend of mine puts a new one on his car since he is also having the same prob.

its not your clutch/flywheel. that wont do that..and mine is running rich out the tail pipe on the smog test..so it can possibly be the distributor cuz that would cause it to run rich if its not sparking right. and for the other guy Bignel00...are you positive its the distributor...well let everyone know when you change it out...that would save us all the hassle of process of elimination. thanks.
The place I go to in Portland OR orders a rebuilt one for me, installs it and does the timing for like 235 -270$ Just from seeing others buy one I would think about 200-400$ just kinda guestimating.
As far as putting one on I don't think it would mess with your tunning.
If im wrong on anyhting correct me.

as far as the tac/speedo jumping around, thats the icm in the dizzy.
also, have you checked your timing? my car did the same thing, and i went about fixing it the same way, throwing random parts at it that i thought would fix it. Turned out to be 3 teeth off time.

Before you go and spend a ton of money on a brand new distributor find a friend to borrow his ignitor coil and switch it out. It's a very common thing to go. If you don't know anyone with a honda go to autozone, get one, their around $60-80.
If a brand new coil doesn't fix the problem then return it and get the distributor. I've had the same problem 2years ago and put in a used one from my old LS distributor, it worked fine but started to go out this week so i'll be picking one up today.
And trust me do NOT drive it for too long like this, the ignitor goes out slowly until the point the car will stall while driving. Another pointer is my first bad ignitor still showed current at the correct voltage as haynes says. But it was still bad so I don't think there is an actual way to check if it's bad or not.
