Noobie here! - Need Suggestions On Rim/Tire Size For A 88 Accord Hatchback
I'm new to the Honda scene after driving VW's and Beemers for a long time. Anyways, I picked up a FREE 88 Accord 2 door hatchback in decent shape body and engine wise with 190,000+kms.
A few rim/tire questions for you experts:
1) What is the bolt pattern on this make and model?
2) What is the offset? Currently it has some rusty steelies and I can't find any stampings on them.
3) Currently has 185/60/14 all season tires. Is this the stock size?
4) If so, if I upgrade to 205/40/16 tires will it rub if I use Eibach Sport "1.5 lower springs on Koni shocks/struts?
Thanks in advance for any input!

No. Stock sizes:
1988 Accord Hatchback - 165/-13 (80 is the default aspect ratio)
1988 Accord LX Hatchback - 185/70-13
1988 Accord LXi Hatchback - 195/60-14

On any of these models, if you get 16" wheels, you should be getting 205/45-16. The size you mention is too small. And the outer diameter of 205/45-16 is about the same as stock; although I haven't tried it on that car, as a general rule, you won't rub with the stock outer diameter and a 1.5" drop.

If you want to get some really good info on that car go to http://www.3geez.com there's plenty of good stuff there. I've got an 88 Accord hatchback too, and the guys over there are really helpful, and cool.
