Now by Sportsmen do you mean BRACKET cars or all of the sportsmen classes such as Quick 16, power street, turbo street and so on? All of the previous years saturday was required mufflers for BRACKET cars only but sportsmen guys like Q16 were allowed open exhaust but only to QUALIFY on Saturday. Then Sunday everyone including braket cars were allowed to run open exhaust.
Just trying to clarify here when you say sportsmen. So if I show up to qun Q16 on saturday and qualify, I must run a muffler to QUALIFY saturday afternoon? Or am I exempt like previous years??

E-town has a curfew.
They are only allowed a certain number of "noise days" ( thats what they call them) basically those are the days they can make as much noise as they want - i'm sure they use them for NHRA powerade events.
Any other time cars are usually required to have mufflers

I am aware of E-towns rules and curfews. However, like I said in previous years any class that was QUALIFING was allowed to run open exhausts (unless the rules stated mufflers for the class) on saturday while just bracket cars had to wear mufflers. NOPI comes on here saying all sportsmen cars, so I was looking for a clarification on wether Q16 had to be muffled this year where we got away with it in years past. Thats all really
Now if you tell me I have to use a muffler in Q16 Saturday, no problem as we have one that bolts right up.

My response was not directed at you. As i can see you are a local guy , i would assume you were fully aware of them. I was trying to explain it to some of the other guys that may not understand why they are required there.
I can not give you an answer to your question, which is why i did not speak directly towards you. . .

i stand corrected, looks like the general rules 1.3 doesent state that it has to exit past the rear control arm anymore, just has to flow through a functioning muffler exiting toward the back of the cars body...nor does it say anything regarding Turbostreet cars....
Glenn can you chime in on this?

2Fast.....no worries over here man. It's all good.
Just looking for some clarification. I will call my girl Jeanne tomorrow in the office and try to get an answer. Although I can hear it already...."well it is going to be up to NOPI. We have no say"
Just wish NOPI was a little more clear
