Default *~Post up your EG's 1/4 glass w/ No moldings~* (moldings or none, That is the ?)

This is probably an age old debate. Moldings, no moldings....but I found nothing in a search. I do remember something similar back in 01/02'.

So if you got it, please post up your 1/4 glasses installed w/ out the moldings. It would be a big help.

To the biggest aide that helps in my decision to keep or trash what I got, there will be a prize. nothing large, but hey it's free to you.

You mean no rubber molding around the quarter glass? Wouldn't that just leave a big ugly gap?

that's exactly what i'm talking about. On the cars i remember seeing it on back in the days. It actually looked clean, if not cleaner. But I cannot remember clearly enough to make my decision, but it's something I've been thinking of doing. Fuster_ Cluck may have the pic to answer my question on his EG, but he hasn't responded over on k20a.org

only ref. too hard to tell

I see now, that looks super clean. I figured there would be a huge gap, but it is only like 2-3mm at most. Wow, learn something new everyday.

I don't know if it's because I am looking directly at the glass to look for the moulding....but for some reason it makes that window "stick out". Having the moulding in flows with the front trim. Looks clean without too. Any leaking issues though?

Well I've never noticed that!

Hmmmm. Different. I'm undecided about it at this point.

i was contemplating doing this with my old project. so do you need replacement glass or what? or just take off the old moldings on the oem glass?

If the glass is installed right I'm pretty sure there are no leaking issues, but then again I'm no pro. with that in mind if it did leak I'm pretty sure people wouldn't be doing it.

If you ever look at EK hatches they don't have 1/4 glass molding either and it looks good.

You just remove the oem moldings. or if your windows are out have them put in w/out of course.
