well here we go AGAIN! I part out my eg and BUILT ls-v cuz i was done with the scene and i just could not walk away so now.... starting all over. so i picked this car up from a buddy cheap he is off to iraq so lets BUILD IT UP.

I KNOW its ugly but i need to paint it ASAP!

when i picked up the car he told me he bought a new pump/filter/main fuse but car wont stay like running out of gas. so i drop the tank to see whats ^ and OF COURSE i get get the car running but its ruff i need more time to play with it.

complete interior with everything EVEN clean OEM cargo cover the interior is spotless

 

well lets start off with what is wrong then ill list what the car has and what i plan to do

ok well the car has a SOHC ZC(first single for me for the past 6 years been B) and first obd0 so i need to get use to it. ok well the car came with 2 ecu's inside both pr-4 and i plug one in i get code 13 and the other ecu gives me code 10 so im lost. he told me car wont stay on, the one with code 13 i got the car on i rev the gas and never seen so much black smoke in my life and i plug the other ecu with code 10 in and car runs maybe 5 secs then turns off. im thinking its the map?( to explain how lost i am with single cam i was tryin to get 1 of my old b-series maps to fit but no go)
PLZ SOMEONE any idea what i should check or do.
now what the car has for the price it was a great deal, car has a sohc zc,act clutch, momo wheel struts all around spot less interior he said ac works window washer everything works WOW for a 20 yr old ef im happy.

now me i am a huge fan of the oem look but built motor so this will not be much different. i work fast so i hope to make alot of progress asap.
in the morning i am sanding prep for paint i am 50/50 on the $50 paint job or paint with gun in my garage . but will prep either way later today. now i am going to try to get some hx's tonight.
i wanna swap the back seat to cloth(other then ef what other kinda back seat will fit nice and snug) after this i will start thinking about the motor i always been juice or motor THIS time i wanna try turbo so either sohc or b not sure will be thinking about this for a few days.

 

First off you need to get that running right. It's a SOHC ZC so its close to a D16A6 motor (came in the SI's and EX's) but someone please confirm this (not 100%). If it is, then I think you can run a PM6 ecu (again someone please confirm this). And I say if it's just a budged project, by all means do the rattle can paint job. Some people on here have done some nice looking $50 paint jobs.

 

yea thanx for the tip ill look in 2 that im going to the junk yard to stock up on a sensor or 2 and ill check for that ecu

Its the same motor as an A6. EXACTLY. minor diff on the cam, thats it.

Use a PM6.

A pr4 is dohc.....no wonder you are having issues.

 

lol luv the camo paint .. i would keep the z6 in there and turbo the **** out of that..

 

just came back from the junk yard and could not get what i went for which was the map found and bunch but the map is hard to get out im use to it being up front on top not on the side i am very very strong but could not crack the screw loose so i just gave up i buy one from some where. BUT i did find the cleanest pm6 and some fuses and a plastic for the back light and a cleaner ash tray so i guess i did good and i been sanding like a mad man i want that camo off! people are telling me what happen your taking steps back you went from a clean oem eg that was a 11's all fay car to this SO I WILL make it my goal to make this car cleaner and faster!

YEA? that does not get play over here in cali i start sanding and everyone is telling me good "we thought you were serious about is paint job" im glad to see it go so here is a update where i am at NOW




now i need to get the HX'S did not get a chance to go pick them up yet i think hx would look good on dis when its painted any one disagree? im going outside in a while to go try to get it run and stay one no black smoke no shutting off just in good shape, i hope he didnt kill the motor he had it advanced all the way and sum hope i can get it to run i changed over to the pm6 still same code but i cant turn the car on until i get a jump.

i stop sanding because i wanna change the bumpers over to 91 front and back and i need the moldings for the door then ill paint it kinda buzz kill that i had to stop. QUESTION what the diff with 88-89 fenders and 90-91 because driver fender is snug pass there is a space from the corner light maybe 3/4 inch or so. QUESTION any one seen the back rims before know what they are?

 

DS are either of those PR4's OBD1? I have a PM6, you live in the 626 so do I, I will trade you for a PR4 if OBD1 since you have two, if not give it to you for cheap. LMK bro!

WELL..... turned the car on it was running then i try to go around the block and then find out EITHER the short shifter is trash and off setting the gears or tranny is trash takes a lil work to find the gear it sounds like im tryin to put it into gear with out the clutch but when it finds the gear its all good
THEN t/b is getting stuck and when i first turn it on the car rev up fine then like 2 mins later got sluggish so i wanna play with that
so here is where i am @ i wanna take the short shifter off and im getting code 3 so when i change the map ill see if it all gets better.... it runs fine then smokes i dont know alot sohc but im working on it
