has your car ever been hit in the rear corner? if you can hear the hatch squeak and shake, then theres a big enough gap for water to get in at all times.

Its most likely not the tailight gaskets to begin with. Remove the rear bumper. You will see there are two vents. The gaskets around the vents are most likely the source of your leak.

I agree. I have a 2000 that does the same thing. I've been searching and searching for where it's coming in. Seems to come in more when the road is wet, rather than just a car wash or something. I noticed just yesterday that the vent on the left side was really wet around the edges. I've had my trunk completely stripped waiting for a rainy day to find this. I'm gonna take off the rear bumper and reseal that to see what happens. All I've heard was stuff about the trunk seal, rear window seal, or tail light seals. Glad someone brought these vents up as a possibility.

Wow good call! I will have to check into that once I get my car back from the body shop! I know I was getting water in cause my rear quarters were shot, but now Im replacing them with new ones so I guess I will see what comes out of it
