Default 600 whp, what trans?

my boy opted to put his type r trans in his daily, because it was begining to grind at high rpms and we figured we would try and save it, so now he needs to buy a new trans for his strip / street car.

more strip then street. should be making 600-650+

2.0 lsvtec, 35r, 24.5 slicks.

what trans or even what gear combo would yeild the fastest 1/4 times?

b16/itr is going to accelerate the quickest, but if you don't have a good suspension setup, boost controller that can do boost by gear, etc.....you will be spinning. Do the gear calculator and see what you need....mph, wheel size, etc.

Or go stereotypically and get the LS to stay in boost longaR.

For the 600+ mark, it would be a wise investment to buy an aftermarket gearset if you can get one. Either that, or learn how to fix the stock one yourself, because you're going to need to replace parts often.

Liberty, PPG, G-force all make great gearsets and have all been proven

Tons of people like Joe Simpson, Courtney Green, Stephanie Eggum and am I sure other s run the Liberty.

I believe Felix Medina runs the G-Force set

If you cant afford an aftermarket trans. (i know i can't) I would just stick with OEM gsr gears, treated or not. That's up to you, I personally think the treatment helped us. But some others beg to differ. But for that power level and what the car should trap, i think the b16 would be to short. Unless your reving it out past 10k. Im putting a new trans together tomorrow, I will be using a cuff in place of 5th gear.
I'll let you know how that goes.

Remember you can also mix ratio's. All hydro B's use the same setup, don't be afraid to try something new. some b16 some gsr. See what it does for you.

My car went 149mph at 9800rpm. Making somewhere around 650 or so...2600lbs with me in it...ITR tranny. Racerstev treated my gears a while ago too....30+ 10.1-10.2 passes and thousands street miles beating on it everywhere I go.

The GSR tranny is a good all around ratio setup though and many people opt for it.

OP, the GSR and ITR 1st are the same gears and since you have the ITR tranny...use them. ITR 1-4, LS 5th or ITR 1-3, GSR 4ths and LS 5th. That is what I just switched to as I am out of mph with the ITR gears and moving up in power.
