I was just wondering how much HP would stock integra axles handle. I have a turbo GSR and im thinking about putting some slicks on it but people keep telling me that im gonna brake the axles. Right now the car has 320whp. Just wondering what u guys think about this. Thanks

 

I haven't had slicks on my car yet, but I know guys that ran 500+whp on the stock axles with slicks. Make sure you preload on the launch.

we were at 630 last year i belive just preload and watch the tire pressure i wouldnt go lower than 8psi, spin out the hole rather than break at the line and move only a couple of inches if your lucky to move at all

OEM Axles many trips to the track on 24.5 slicks

 

520hp with 26in slicks at 8psi on napa axles hasnt broken yet
just preload and have fun

 

Am going to be running 580WHP, and JDM ITR axles on 24.5x8x15 M/T. Would you say JDM is a lot stronger or its about the same?

 

everyone know that if its JDM its 10 times better...

Lol I was gonna say something but I think he means cuz the jdm are 36mm

 

preloading is when you use your ebrake or staging brake to hold the car inplace while letting out on the clutch so since the car cannot move its putting pressure on the front suspension instead of moving forward thus taking the shock off the drivetrain.

We have a CRX that has stock axles that have been 9.62@153 2300lbs. Our Prelude has been 10.0 with 750WHP 2800lbs on stock axles...

 

You'd be suprised... There are a few of the big boys out there that run some great times on stock axles.

 

580whp Stock ITR tranny and stock axles. Never have broken an axle in 6 years on slicks, drag radials they break like toothpicks

 

500hp currently on autozone remanufactured stock axles. never broken one at the track on either slicks or drag radials in 6 years between 350 and 500hp. preload like its your job is my best advice

 

I know everyone so far has great results with stock axles. I had horrible results. Solid mounts 22x8x15 and 24.5x9x13 mt slicks I would break axles at the line every pass. (I would preload) slicks had 9psi. Started happening after about 350whp. It got to the point were after returning 6 axles to autozone that they told me I couldn't anymore. So I bought DSS 5.9's and havent looked back. If it helps the setup is a 92 hatch with a 84x89 and a 6765

 

tb runs stock k series axles on a line lock. alot harder on drive train than using a staging brake

 

stock k axles are stronger

 

I think it's more often the low hp guys that can't spin a slick over that break.

I broke alot of axles preloading a 2150lb 200hp car on 22" slicks. Good mounts, full face disk. The car does consistant mid 1.6's. Everytime i went to MIR, the well prepped track around here, i'd break ****.

Ask BigTuna how many he broke at 140hp.

 

stockers here as well on 24.5x9 slicks and launching at 7k rpm's off 2step, right around the 500whp mark

 

323whp stock 99 Si B16a2 factory axles no LSD over 25+ track passes on 24.5 slicks axles still sitting on my shelf waiting to go right back in.....

Factory axles + good pre-load = magic.
