Default Honda wont cover paint problems? Feedback please?

So. I got done washing my car today and I notice a medium paint blotch on the hood... Roughly 5 inches wide and 5 inches long, measured from the top/bottom/sides of the circle...

2ndly my rear passenger door has "trash" under the paint which leaves it to look like it's small rocks under the coat.

I took it to my local Honda dealer and their service department said Honda will not cover paint since I have 7900 miles on it... It's an 07, brought from a dealer in September 07...

Honda is responsible for the paint issue correct?

I dunno, I know they will cover it if it defects (bubbles, flakes) and wont cover chips or scratches.... not sure about spots or trash. They can't expect you to see a piece of trash under the paint after one lookover when you buy it... Call honda, make a big deal about it, they will just send you a new (or send the dealer) a new painted hood.

You have a paint warranty which covers defects etc.

Acura is no better in getting service on it however it really depends on your manager/regional manager and yoru area.

I had a bird crap on my TSX (2 months old) and it ate rigth through the clearcoat (was on it for MAYBE 2 hours) after bitching my way up the ladder they refused to even do a courtesy repaint . My argument was, that clearcoat should be able to stand up to elements and other occurances and it didnt sit for days etc etc.

When I bought my 07 Si I purchased the 7 year paint protection plan for $250. Anything, bird poo, tree sap, acid rain..anything from mother nature, and they will fix it free..

I had some black spots under my clear coat when I first got the car. Took to the dealer and bitched to the sales person all the way up to the GM. I had only had the car a few days and they took it back and fixed it. I would say if you didn’t catch it with in a few weeks of when you brought it. They won’t do anything about it. But I could be wrong.

I think he is full of s**t. Honda would never be so stupid as to cover paint problems that would occur because of mother nature, especially for only $250.

are you f*ckin serious? I'll have to take a picture and upload it. It's called like 'The Protector' or some ****. Ask for proof before you don't believe something.

They do. I was offered one when I bought my car. However, it was my impression that Honda applied a special top clear coat finish over the paint, and it was this clear coat they applied that was warrantied, not the factory paint under the clear coat.

I believe that they have a paint protection thing, but I don't believe it is as extreme as you stated. Maybe for $250 a year. But sure...go ahead and prove it. If I'm wrong, I am wrong.

I just find it impossible to believe that you could (hypothetically) leave a bird dropping on your car for as long as you want (7 years apparently), and Honda will fix it for free (minus the initial charge).

I owned a G35 coupe before my Si and bird crap did leave several spots through the clear coat with less than 3 hours of contact. Powerful sh**t!
