Default Transmission Spec Questions: Searched...not a WTb thread...

so with my rebate stimulus check i figured i would invest the money into getting a b16 tranny but aren't they cable? I have a 97' rs with a ls/rs transmission and have many concerns about this swap...

when buying a transmission, how do you know the difference between a gsr and a ls...since both own s80 and y80 stamps? basically i'm asking for your advice of what to do with $600 on a motor that will not be boosted...

i do not want to do a hydro to cable kit or anything like that-definitely needs to be hydro and dont know what cars the b16 comes out of and which are hydro...

del Sol VTECs came with B16's, '99-'00 Civic Si came with B16. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by lmike6453 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote"> how do you know the difference between a gsr and a ls</TD></TR></TABLE>
Crack open the case and get to counting. If you're purchasing it off of the intraweb, you should just go to a reputable site - one that can be trusted to send you the right ****.

The second gear is double synchronized in the GS-R and B16 transmissions. It's not a 100% verification of all the gears, but if the transmission has never been opened before then it's a good indicator.

I can usually tell by looking at how the casing is sealed. The sealant is either not Hondabond HT, they put too much, or if the Hondabond is inconsistent with the appearance of the transmission.
