Default first time dynoed! =D h22- trying to make more power=TUNNING *HELP*

i just dynoed at 191whp @7600 rpm on basic carb legal boltons and cams while running on the lean side...
i have a apex vafc, how much more power can i make if i was to play with it and bring up the rev limit to around 8200? and slap on some injectors?
oh yea and if your already have jdm h22a pistons is it worth the time to get the type s pistons?
- whats the best way to start learning how use my controller without messing anything up also?
if i can do past 220 without spending too much im a happy man =D

any time you want to raise you rev limit its never a bad idea to upgrade your valvetrain. what type of ecu are you running is it chiped getting it tuned might get you up to 200 if you have not already done so

you will gain 0 horsepower by raising the rev limiter.
Take a look at your dyno graph- if your peak hp is at 7600, the power begins to fall off after. by raising it to 8200 it will only continue to fall off. Your stock head/cams do not flow that high anyways.

that is decent numbers for boltons. If you get anymore out of it- tune it on race gas and start adjusting timing. create 2 maps street (pump) and strip(race gas)

you will make x more power.

what do you need bigger injectors for? bigger injectors do not equal more power when you dont need them.

500+ dollars is not worth .4 additional compression.

you can't raise the rev limiter.

You need a real engine management system.

HP numbers are crap.

where did you dyno??

and as everyone else says the Vtec AFC is not the way to tune. and Type S pistons are not worth it.

what cams are you running? with what valvetrain?

lol this guy is dropping hate, but anyways
-from what i noticed i actually think raising up my rev limiter will give me more HP. and the reason for that is becouse my power keeps going up untill it cuts off, not a super lot but its still in the process of raising.
- and why do i want injecotrs??? becouse i want to get a nicer richer mixture. as it is its running lean, so it would be safer as well for when its at high rpms.

and right now im running the stock computer
and your trippin, those type s pistons run for way cheaper! lol

you are better off removing the AFC and tuning on Crome.

Where did you dyno? What cams?

crower stage 2 cams(acording to the guy i got them from, i did measure and compare them to the stocks and they are bigger on the vtec lobes, so 4 sure i atleast now i got something better than stock. and they do run stronger)
- also got crower springs and retainers
how much do u think id spend getting it tuned on chrome? becouse the vafc would b my free way of doin it hehe
im thinking of boring it out to a somthing around 2.3 or bit more.... but not to sure till i find out how much that can run me for the doin the machine work and to get high comp pistons at that size and what about those. but on top of that theres the hole FRM walls that supposvly cost problems from what ive read around here??

Crome, Blox stage II's, adjustable cam gears.... oh yeah and bring the car to me That should get you started with the over 200 range.

Pricing depends on how much your tuner charges.. Whitfield racing in Upland is $160 to crome tune on the dyno. then you can just sell that AFC. if you want to go bigger bore you will need to sleeve the block. unless you run an H23 crank setup with type-s pistons and stay stock bore. the added stroke will be a big increase in power.

ive thought of that before, but do you think that set up handles 8000+ rpm nicely? thats the reason i was thinking of boring instead.
-but yea ive also wanted to get rid of the vafc and get it tuned on chrome, but its cuz back then i was running a f22 tranny and my v tec was dropping too much so i got it from a friend for cheap n as a cheap fix to that lil problem =D
but like u just sayed, $160 sounds pretty dam good to me

i was and am pushing 8000+ rpm with my H22 stock crank stock bore. and my sleeved block is the same. the cams you have won't build any higher than 8000 anyway so you will prob need to shift at 8100 to 8200. Boring and honing the FRM sleeves is not easy, finding someone who knows how to do it correctly is a little tricky, There are a lot of stock bore H23 crank / type S piston setups running very fast times.

Sell the AFC, tune it on Crome, BTW if you dont have it already i have an H22 trans for sale.. also have a complete CRX ready for H22 with mounts, wiring, complete Hydro pedal setup, carbon hood, etc... see link in my sig for more details. Good luck on your setup! Guaranteed you will see a lot more usable power on crome.
