Default basemap questions ( phearable customers )

i just bought a basemap from phearable.net. i will be using it soon and am looking for feedback from other customers.

i also was wondering if resistor j12 was desoldered. mine still has it. from what i've read j12 needs to be removed ?

how long did you drive on your basemap's before tuned. any extra info would be appreciated

thank you !

Basemaps are an educated guess on what your motor needs to run. It is not something you load and then just go to the race track. If you want to do it right then you should get a base map (yes phearables maps are fine i've used a few on customers cars) and then use it to just drive your car or tow it to a dyno then use that to go off of for tuning. Hope that helps. Also, i think j12 is only to enable full duplex data logging if i remember correctly. pm me if you got more Q's.

To answer your question: Our basemaps are the best map we can create without actually tuning the vehicle in person.

J12 can be snipped out using a small pair of snippers.

Thread to answer your question about our basemaps:

There are others too I am sure.

the reason why i asked about the driving question is i may haft to drive to tri cities or seattle for the tune. i don't know of any good experienced tuners in eastern washington but i might look into finding a trailer.

thanks for the info

I drove on my phearable.net base map for almost a year in boost and all ,Im not telling you to do that but I had no choice. My opinion is its aa great basemap to get you from point a to point B but still get your car tuned asap.

I got a basemap from him a few yrs ago, it was also pretty rich on the dyno, but the point is it got me there without blowing up

This is why I think he make them rich on purpose. Nobody wants a "I got a chipped ecu from so and so and my motor blew up" thread floating around, its just bad for buisness.

my point is basemaps are just a educated guess as to what your motor will like, and are intended for driving to the dyno only. the longer u drive around on a basemap the higher your odds of engine damage

I can guarantee you that 90% of the vehicles which have issues with a basemap are not even related to the basemap it's self.

I can't even count how many times customer's have intake air temperature sensors wired wrong or damaged reading improper temperatures. When this occurs the ecu generally does not throw a code as it is still receiving a signal. Another common issue is people thinking their vehicles should run fine when they are running no resistor box on low impedance injectors or run fine when throwing codes etc.

Regardless, it is what it is. A best guess without you bringing the car to us to tune.
Sure, the basemaps are derived from other vehicles tuned by Phearable.net
Does this mean your going to be able to install the ecu/chip and rip away? Nope, however we have seen numerous customer's do just this & not have problems.

I have had several customers send me dyno sheets with their a/f ratios being directly on target & some with the a/f ratios being off. Its jus the nature of the beast.

The best solution would be to get your self a wideband & a tunable engine management system such as hondata s300. You would then be able to run one of our basemaps & make adjustments or have us help you make adjustments.

I drove on my Phearanle.net basemap for two weeks, and then drove fom NC to VA to get it tuned. It was way rich, but it got me there safely.

They get a from me.

A basemap is just that...a base. Its used to drive the car somewhere for a tune. Dont count on it running great because the majority of the time the car's tune still needs to be altered quite a bit for that particular setup.

quick question, there shouldnt be a problem running a stock basemap on your car should there? if i wanted to add features such as 2 step, rev limit and vtec activation points on an otherwise stock motor, it should be fine correct?

Guys. A basemap or a startup map is just that. Like Mtber said. 90% of the time if a car is running like complete **** something is wrong with the car. Be is wiring, sensor(s), timing, etc. Phearable.net chipped my microwave

after reading all these posts i just need to make a few things clear, in no way did i start this topic in a negative way towards the ecu i bought from phearable or phearable it's self. i've known what a base map is for a long time but was looking for feedback. to tell the truth i'm eeeeeeeger as hell to bolt it up already. everything else is done!

thank you to everyone with the feedback though, appreciate it !
