Default Manual Swap from old accord.

Kind of a stupid question, but I know someone who is giving away an old manual 92 accord with a blown motor. My Prelude is auto, and I was wondering what parts I could take from the accord in converting my prelude to manual. Or if even better, if it had everything I needed. Please advise. Thanks.

There has to be something I need. All the write-ups I find for the manual swap are for 4th gens.

You are at going to need a 5th gen shifter, the 5th gens have a one piece plastic shifter assembly. Honda doesn't even sell any parts to service it. Basically if you break something internally your screwed into buying a whole new one...

why would he need a 5th gen shifter?

if it was me i would grab the shifter, the cables, the clutch pedal, tranny, clutch hydraulics, all the nuts and bolts, the flywheel...basically everything.

Just to let you know.....F22 gear ratios suck.
When installed in my friends H22 5th gen it would hit VTEC at 50mph in 2nd gear which meant the shift from 1st to 2nd would lag about 10mph before VTEC hit again. With the F22 trans the car never went better than 15.7 making 175whp with i/h/e and that was the best of many many 16sec runs.
Find an H23 trans for cheap or don't bother messing with the swap.....
