89 Crx wont shut off after Dohc Zc swap... no codes and runs fine
Hi all. I have a dohc zc in a 89 crx dx and I am having an issue shutting the car off. The car stays on after I remove the keys from the ignition. I did the wiring for the swap myself and checked it many, many times over and I can't find anything that adds up. The car wasn't having any issues before the swap. Has anyone else had an issue like this? I am using a pg7 ecu. I was thinking about wiring in a kill switch for the ecu to shut it off and for thieves. Any thoughts? Thanks.
possible ignition switch keeping power to the main relay. try this, with the car running, unplug the ignition swith (electrical part) from the fuse box. if the car turns off, then its most likely your switch. if not, keep on diag'n....
i had a harness that had a bad short in it taht would keep the engine running unless i turned the headlights either on or off, lol. sounds to me like a bad ignition switch, the service manual will have a test for it if u have a multi meter to test with. g/l
