Default obd2 emissions

Okay i have an 1996 EK with a H22a1 (obd1) motor, but i have obd2 wiring with an obd2 to 1 conversion harness. If i take off the conversion harness and put obd2 ECU on there will i pass be able to pass emissions.

Keep in mind I will just have to pass the scanner where they plug into check for codes. I guess my main question is would it throw any codes if i put the obd2 ecu on it.

Ahh just watch out for your distributor, OBD1 and OBD2 are typically not interchangeable, and thus you may have to swap that out as well.

And, of course, be sure to drive around with the OBD2 ECU to set all various factors.

(Also, get it done early, just in case there are problems/codes you need to sort out with OBD2.)
