Default Chromoly steel retainers vs titanium retainers??

I am about to buy retainers for my car i am going to use skunk2 stg 2 or skunk2 stage 1 pro. I read a couple of posts talking about problems with titanium retainers that they donīt last etc. So for a street use that rarely sees the race track which would be better? How much better is a chromoly steel reatiner than a oem steel retainer? Please i need advice from personal use. If you have a nice experience you input would be apreciated.

i dnt have the aswers to your questions but heres my experience with Titanium retainers. At 62000 miles I had my Cyl head Ported and when it was assembled I had Skunk2 retainers replace the stock retainers. So at 108000 miles I decided to have a valvejob done to the head and when I took out the titanium retainers and inspected them i saw that the outer springs dug itself onto the surface of the titanium retainer where it sits. In my case and a rough estimate my retainers could have lasted a little longer but at 46000 miles with the ti retainers i have no complaints. Regular check ups on any Hi performance parts is a must. My car saw about 2 legal drag races and 12 road race events and is my daily driver .

My Cams:Skunk2 Stg1
Outer Springs were ITR intake
inner Springs were Alaniztechnoilogies

yeah 46thousand miles is pretty good really since most people donīt even keep the motor for that long. It really isnīt an expensive part but I wouldnīt want to keep changing retainers every year.
