Default 95 civic hand brakes help

car: 1995 civic vx w/ rear disc conversion

my hand brakes never really held tight...but now i guess its at the point where its becoming useless.

i parked on a hill and pulled my hand brakes up and the car kept rolling still.

my question is...

how do i fix this?

is there specific pads for hand brakes?
or is the rear disc pads the same one used when hand brakes is applied?

Yea the same pads that are used when the pedal is pressed is the same pads that are used when you pull the emergency brake.Maybe your not pulling the e-brake far enough, maybe the pads are worn down or maybe you need to adjust the tension nut for the e-brake?

Oh it also could be that you only have one e-brake connected....because my car only has one connected and it doesn't hold very well.

try adjusting the bolt where the handle is first (underneath your armrest... or console trim)

Well I know on civics they use the same pads.Maybe yours is different but I don't see why it would be.
