Default Lurching transmission......

It seems that while making a "California stop" (coming up to a stop sign and not making a complete stop), my 2008 LX will "lurch" as I hit the gas pedal to go. It happens when I'm going about 3-5 mph and hit the gas to go. It is very annoying and I don't know if it's a normal characteristic of this car. I've tried to soften my foot on the gas pedal, but it only helps sometimes. Or, could there be a problem with the transmission?

Thanks in advance....

Is your car automatic or manual. And if it is a manual, what gear do you have it in when doing the "california stop".

...and I'm guessing it's in 2nd gear as I'm coming to an "almost" stop.....or maybe I'm catching the car inbetween 1st and 2nd as I'm going for the gas??

Hmm...I don't know then.

My initial guess was that the car was manual
and you were bogging the engine down by going so slow in a gear other than first, but it's an automatic so that's out the door. LOL.

My sister has an '06 EX auto and I've never experienced that problem when driving her car. The transmission should have itself in first going that slow.

I recommend just taking it to the dealer. Let them look it over (under warranty), before it gets worse.

You could check the transmission fluid level to see it is at a good level.

It's called a "California Roll" not a "california stop"

anyway probably catching car in second and it needs to shift back to first but is having some issues, as said, transmission fluid levels, if not something maybe fishy with tranny.
