Got a question for you. Just bought one myself..Evo X 5 speed. I have issues with the way the motor runs.. Do you find that the power flattens out after 5 grand or so, or does it pull harder as you approach redline? Do you get any bucking ( like a misfire ) anywhere in the rpm range?
Mine seems to misfire and makes for some pretty noticeable drive line backlash when accelerating under a load.. Especially noticeable up hills..
Power wise I wouldn't be having any Type R's a go.. it just doesn't seem to be all that powerful for 290+ hp.. it's good up to about that 5 grand mark, but then just seems to level out, even drop off..

nice car i was recently thinking about trading my truck in for an evo or sti(older ones tho) did you get a chance to drive both back to back or were you just in the market for an evo?

Damn, this never ends. At least she was cleanly stripped and relatively undamaged....hopefully she gets rebuilt

I don't like the style of the new STI, even though the numbers look better power wise.
R&T did a side by side on the older EVO and WRX and had not much nice to say about the way the WRX braked and handled.. Mind you it wasn't the STI..
Still, you remember things like that when you are looking to buy one or the other.
I thought the EVO was kind of dumpy from all the press photo's myself, but in person it looks mean.. luv that!
