Hey guys,

I just came back from a 300 mile road trip. On the way back, I noticed a burning smell coming from the engine, which could only be smelled with the windows down. Well, when I pulled into the driveway, I noticed some smoke coming out from under the drivers side near the wheels/under the engine area. Does anyone have any input on this?

The car: 1997 4 cylinder accord with 146k miles
Original tranny and engine still

Oil was just changed recently, no leaks, and the engine is not burning oil, no blue smoke

btw, the temperature gauge never went past the 1/4 way point the entire time.

I do know however that the car needs new brakes, however, the brake pads are fine.

whats it smell like ... brake ... clutch [if manual] ... check your brake bluid maybe a torn brake line ... what else can you tell us about the smoke? ...

 

The car is automatic, smoke was white and there wasn't much of it. However, it seemed like it was coming from the wheels

 

if all fluids seem to be fine and it seems to be coming from the wheels ... i would check your brake fluid level and take a look at your brake lines for tears first ...
