Default 2005 Acura RL brake project for 96 EX - 4 piston calipers with 13 inch (330mm) rotors

Getting together parts for building my Acura RL front brake project for my 96 EX.

[IMG][/IMG]

1. Two 2005 Acura RL 4 piston calipers.

2. Two 2005 330mm Subaru WRX Sti Front rotors, (thanks brakeexpert who told me what to get)

3. 4 (older) 17 inch wheels with 205/40 Nitto tires. (Going to go with 50's later)

4. Have to shorten the hollow bolts that connect the Accord brakelines to the calipers and get new crush washers, but the lines sem to bolt right up.

5. Going to machine heavy angle iron brackets to attach the calipers to the knuckles and use the strongest yellow zinc plated bolts and nuts with lock washers and Locktite.

Tell me what ya think!

What are you using for the 5 lug conversion. Possibly looking to do this in the future.

there is a whole section in the faq devoted to doing a 5 lug conversion. read that if you want to know how to do it.

OP - Are you upgrading the rears at all. also what are you doing about hydraulics, is the stock master cylinder going to be sufficient?

Haha I don't think the stock MC will work with this.

dual piston NSX calipers it's fine with, but quad piston? lol I dont think it'll cut it.

lol yeah thats why i asked. its a good idea and a sweet set up, but without the right hydraulics, i think you are going to be disappointed with the performance. try looking into the mc setup on the RL, and see what they're running.

Also, that's a good point, with the rears at least with this brake setup it may be important to upgrade the rears as well. Maybe at least to NSX rears? I'm afraid with 4piston front and shitty stock rear it probably will offset the like 85% 15% balance or whatever it is.

RL uses a different bolt pattern. 5/112 After a little search'n on the net. I found that the 05 STi rotors are 5/114. I am well aware of the FAQ section and it's contents.

I was going to drill them out for 4 lug. Does anyone know if the GSR master cylinder fits the 96 Accord.

I think that if those brackets/bolts fail, you are [freak]ed.
