several noob questions
Hey guys new to the forum and was looking for advice on a few things.
First i was wondering, are there any advantages to installing a "powerchamber" intake over a cold air?
Second i am currently looking into lowering my car, a friend advised me to stay away from Tein dampers and springs. he had said how they made the ride more spring like and was really dissatisfied with how they preformed. I am just wanting to make sure that i end up happy with what ever company i choose. Also is it true that i will experience more tread wear due to the hight of the car?
Also looking for advice on getting the most out of that little d16
Thanks in advance for any help.

with the powerchamber you dont have to worry about sucking up water sounds better and looks better as for tein never owned one of their products and depending on how low you wanna go if you get a camber kit and alignment your tires will be fine but if you slam it without these you will go through tires like socks
which tein's did he have? the basic, SS, Flex, Flex mono? there is a difference. but from what i herd the tein's have there shock valving set kinda soft. (it has something to do with compromising a full on race suspension, with a street suspension) (from my experience) you get a floating feel when you're driving at high speed. but these were the SS'. can't really compare the Flex, Flex mono.
there not a bad company. they have a good rep, but id go with ground control/koni yellow combo. run you about the same price (if not cheaper) then the tein basic, but with the same adjustably of the SS, with out the price.
for tread wear, just make sure your alignment is good, not too much camber, and toe is set at stock, or near 0. you can have your car slammed and still have normal tire wear.

i believe they were just the flex, granted this was on a 01 wrx but it still kinda worried me. im at stock height and on stock tires. i was thinking maybe an inch and a half max.
sucking up water doesnt sound too fun, i think ill go with the powerchamber.
thanks guys!

yeah, you attract the female whales!
really though, unless you live in a dry area or never drive in rain, don't get a cold air because you'll just end up sucking up water and hydrolock the motor, which isn't fun. I got a buddy here in Wisconsin with a b16, and he's so dumb and keeps hydrolocking his motor. three times now.
If you're on a smaller budget, you can just get springs to be honest... unless your shocks are crappy, then just get tokico blues. They are about the equivalent to stock replacements, but a little better. Either Tein springs (unless you're iffy on tein) or even H&R springs. My buddies EG rides/handles quite well for the minimal amount he paid for them (185 for everything from a good friend).
