Cut & patch....Look around see if you can find a patch panel. The piece in the door jam is a tough one. Might be able to buy a "door lock pillar" from honda/acura then cut out what you need & very carefully size the new piece to butt weld it in. Welders should have the settings written on them as far as what setting to use, of course there is also personal preference. If you decide to try to tackel this yourself cut the bad crap out. Take the throw away piece & practice welding it to an extra piece from the lock pillar.
