Default Wheel Stud

Hi everyone. I am a member of many forums between my bikes, my PSD, my subaru and now this honda.

Searching in this section provided me with JACK SHEET so DO NOT respond with search noob!!! If you have no good info to provide, PLEASE keep quite....

I have a broken front wheel stud on my accord and need to know what to do to get the broken part out and get a new stud in there. Never had to deal with this before. the Honda place in cali was the last ones in there and now i need to change the brakes and have only 3 lugnuts holding the wheel on. I am now 1500 miles from that dealer so going back and screaming is not an option.

Don't they go out through the back side of the hub? Not threaded in. You just punch it out, right Hondadude?

Thats how it is on most cars, but I don't know if there is any weirdness with the 94-97 accord rotor/hub setup.

On most years it isn't possible to get the new stud in from the back side, the hub is in the way.
To remove the old broken stud, I use a cutting wheel on the grinder and cut it off close to the hub and then the air hammer to drive it out.
On the 86-89 you could grind off one side of the stud head and slip it past the hub.
Then use a large nut over the stud and a lug nut to draw it into the hub.

On newer models the hub will need to be pulled to get the new stud in behind it.
