red scuff pad (3M only please) and rattle can clear coat (duplicolor most likely) clean the tail lights with the scuff pad with a good few light scratch coats, clean it off and apply 2-3 coats of clear and you should be set.....or just get new tails lol

Here's what I did:

1) Wash tails thoroughly with dishwashing detergent + wool mitt
2) Wetsand with 2000 grit then wash thoroughly
3) Polish with mother's mag and aluminum polish (comes in a white tin)
4) Wash again then apply a coat of wax

End result:

Tails and garnish were pretty dull when shipped to me, but they shined up like a mirror. Hope that helps

Btw, I just realized that this is perhaps the 3rd time I've posted a writeup for something simple like this. Someone should really do a writeup and just get it stickied or put into the FAQ's...

I disagree with painting anything on then at all!

Just follow what the others have said about polishing and it will work out alot cleaner. clear coat orange peals easier than paint!

Don't clear your lights!!! In time the clear will peel and then your just going to have to wet sand them anyway.
