Sup everybody! not much here Im just exicted to finally get back with the vtec. My pervious car was a 95 ls integra outside beat up mods. b18b1 engine with stainless steal header cat back real tanabe exhaust shortram intake, jun light weight fly wheel exedy clutch no ac. car had mad miles but ran like no other sold it with 209.000 but i dont think it was original head beause word was the head was rebuilt and it sure ran like it. Car took off but lacked top end. My first honda i buit or should say made non stock had was a 90 HF crx with a b16a now that was nice but when i swapped the b18c1 with a ys1 tranny from my b16a with skunk 2 intake manifold type-r thottle body act clutch civic type r crank pulley skunk 2 cam gears short ram intake hasport mounts shift linkage Oh my god that was a ride I loved and it till its death. I mean i know pretty good knowlege about the honda/acura vtec sceen so im not gonna ask anything stuiped. I just recently picked up a 1993 acura integra gsr. body mint no rust non what so ever pretty low mileage too 129,000 pretty strong motor too. I know it's the i ball motor b17a1. it seems like its hard to find parts for the motor. My question is the motor is stock what computer chip should i get for the p61 or should i just get somthing like a p28 or p30 ecu chipped, and honestly does chipping really make a difference and, can u notice the difference? . I know it sounds dumb but i never chipped any of my motors. also I see that the b17a1 is a real low compression vtec motor. or should i save my money and boost this car just low boost 5lbs as i want it reliable driver but also to have fun with. Well sorry for the long story please provide me with the answers to my questions. I just want this to be a fun fast ride

 

There are plenty of parts around, just look for b16 and b18c5. Also I wouldn't worry about your pcm until you do alot of other upgrades.

 

i also have a 93 gsr i got the original leather (extremely rare) to find parts look for b16 or type R parts the b17 is the same cast as both those motors if it fits those it will for the most part work for your DA good luck with it but ya i would look in to a real nice intake and exhuast system first before upgrading the ecu freshin up those spark plugs and get sum real nice wires and ull be headed in the right direction good luck with your build
