im goin to be going all motor soon and i was wondering which would be better, a z6 or y8.

currently i have a d16y7 with a y8 head and a y8 tans

i currently have a z6 and most motors are tired at over 200000km...duno the mileage conversion
best bet to run y8 all motor, better in the long run IMO

The y8 has a slightly better head and intake manifold. Plus you are more likely to find a lower mileage y8 as they are newer. I would at least recommend the y8 tranny.

Do you have they y7 in your car or are you running the z6? That could help. If not I think it's minime time.

y7 bottom end, y8 head, and y8 trans

Both blocks perform the same, really. Is ODB1 or ODB2 an issue? I'm building a Y8 simply because I need to bass a bi-annual emissions test so I need to stay ODB2. Some think that the Y8 has more of a tendency to spin bearings because the oil pump runs at a lower volume than the Y8. However, the Y8 oil pump can be shimmed and ported or you can purchase a $200 high volume after market pump.
