Default TYPE R Transmission in EF

ey guys im a prelude guy workin on my hatch so don't clown, i searched couldnt find my answer! x)

I gota 94LS B18A motor im tryin to put in my hatch.. but i need a transmission and am dead set on a type R.

htmotors & they got a 97spec they will part out for me but i need to make sure it will work...

i know it will bolt up, but i thought i read somewhere that it has issues with the crossmember or something? And the Speed Sensor Issue? I have a type R speedsensor i got but didn't know if it will work with my wiring harness & computer. The car is staying Obd0

Also, i will be buyin the hydro conversion kit from innovative for the mounts..


anybody done this please give me some direction! thanks

It will work just fine. Just be sure to get a mechanical VSS (either from a 90-93 teggy or even a 88-91 d series one will work) to replace the electronic one that comes with the ITR trans. I dont know of any issues with the front crossmember...

you have make the holes on the t bar larger for the hydro trans bolts oh and you can use the mechanical vss thanks to hondas part cross compatiabilty

You could just get a 92-93 GSR transmission, it's cable.

Cable YS1 on the left, 95-97 JDM R trans on the right.

Believe I have both the D series Vss & TypeR VSS. so I can just use the D series? that works..

my reasoning with the type R, is I can't find a decent cable transmission any where! the type r is the best one iv found.. i'm not tryin to pay for junk in my hatch. i'd take a quailty ys1 if i could get it.
