Building boost off the line with Crome?
I was thinking about this the other day and was wondering the best way to approach this. Ive got a fully built LS vtec that I run 12psi boost on. I was wondering how many of you guys have expirimented with setting your timing to approximatley -2* at 5000rpm (low cam) and then enabling vtec at 4500 (high cam while moving) and have vtec enabled so that it swiches above 20km/h. This way you could sit at the line, rev to revlimter (5000rpm pre set) and create positive pressure within the exhaust manifold since the timing has become negative. Any dangers in attempting this?
edit: whoops, im sure you would want the rev limiter to be higher than 5000rpm, so you would just have to use your foot and hold it at about 5000rpm. Im sure you would want the rev limiter at like 8500rpm.

is this crome pro that you are using?

this has been covered before. thats a method alot of guys are using to build boost off crome/crome pro. if you upgrade to crome gold, it has a built in 2-stpe just like hondata S300 that builds boost pretty good. heres a video of a car i did building close to 20psi off the 2step (vacuum line was off the wastegate thats why it went up to 20psi ha. someone had pulled it off to check something in the engine bay... i got off the throttle quick

I had my Crome 2-step at 5k rpm, but i never built boost on the boost gauge on the line, but once i launched it seemed to pick up rather quickly. I'm considering an anti-lag this summer for some real off-the-line boost

It does...i was using the free Crome version with my 2 step

crome free has 2-step... crome gold has anti-lag(kinda) which is completely different than 2-step. 2 step is used to gain more consistant et's while anti-lag is used to spool the turbo at launch and between shifts. On a buddies car with crome gold, I can get it to shoot flames and build 10psi (wg) in 2 seconds.
download version 1.4.9 as it has everything in it already. it has 2-stp. but if u want a true 2-step/anit-lab boost builder then u need to switch to crome gold or do the trick mentioned in the 1st post of this thread

this is my car when I was using the free version of crome. I use pro now. Anyway, I retarded the timing -6* ABOVE my vtec engangement point, the 6-7k rows, on the positive pressure side of the map. Then I increased the fuel slightly.
I'm not sure how much I could generate because the wastegate was opening at 8psi.

Go to the forum.pgmfi.org and in the Crome section you'll find it. You need to install 1.4.8, then take the 1.4.9 and dump the exe into your crome folder. Its just the exe that's updated, let it overwrite it.

Um in chrome in order to use the 2-step extra feature doesnt the map need to be in either p30 or p72 code??? to whoevers trying to get the 2-step to work try finding a p72 or p30 coded basemap and load it and see if you can access the 2-step extra feature then...
ps - the 2-step feature if it infact works, will be under your options where you adjust vtec engagement and rev limit etc. Also in the very bottom left of the map/window it will say either p72 or p30 etc and thats what tells you what code the basemap is in...

no, its alright. i just spent a long time searching for what everyone is calling 2-step thinking its a new feature for crome this year where it would setup up the "antilag" automatically. the whole time i was searching for something i already knew of...probably why i never did find it, haha.
