Default Losing second gear?

So today I am driving my car CRX with a B16a swap and suddenly the car does not want to engage second. I pulled the linkage off and stuck a screwdriver in there to shift it by hand and it did the same thing where it just gets stuck. Sometimes it engages other times it gets stuck and wont go in. Any ideas as to what could cause this sudden problem? I'm shift it pretty quick but I wasn't doing anything unusual. It just happened all of the sudden. First sometimes gets a little stuck also and sometimes going into 4th. The 4th problem I had before but it seemed to go away on it's own. I know that sometimes you need to spin the input shaft a hair to actually gets all the gears to engage by hand since you can't get that much force behind it with a screwdriver compared to the shifter. My shifter is exceptionally sloppy, could that maybe be the issue? I might try messing with it more tomorrow shifting it by hand. Just looking for suggestions. Thanks.

check the oil level in the trans...it's probably not the issue but it was trouble for me when i picked my car up

btw, shifter slop is probably worn bushings or loose bolts in the linkage. that may have caused an accidental mis-shift

With these types of problem there isn't much you can do other then make sure the fluid is good, or rip it apart and examine what's wrong.
