I am new to this, so please bare with me. I just prchased a 92 Accord LX Auto 4cyl. I bought it from a older guy who bought it new, so maint. records are good. If I put it in D4, the trans starts in 3rd and stays there. If I put it in D2 or D1, I can shift it manually to 3rd, but it doesn't go into OD. I believe I do not have 1st either because the engine does not drop rpm when I shift it from 1st to 2nd. So I think all I have is 2nd and 3rd gears, but only 3rd when I do not shift manually. The D4 light stays lit all the time, no flashing. From what I have been reading, it is either the TCU or shift solenoids. What do you guys think?

i had the same problem!! u need to replace the tcu,if that still doesnt solve the whole problem u will also need to replace the vehicle speed sensor!! u can go to your local salvage yard and find plenty of cb7's that u can get a tcu off of and maybe the speed sensor too!!
