Default another offset question

ive searched and found some but none completely explain, i know the basics about offset and i was just wondering....i believe the stock offset for a 92 civic hatch is +40.. now my question is can i have a +37 without any rubbing issues or having to roll the fender as i cant because my fenders have a fiberglass lip there so they dont rust out again, was going with a 16x7 +37mm offset and a 205/40/r16 tire.....and will it still clear the calipers???
thanks a bunch!

clearing the cailper is based on the backspace of the wheels. as far as rubber fenders, those should fit
