So I bought a DC JDM style 4-1 for my type-r a year back. I had an incedent with a curb not too long ago and started looking to replace it.

I bought it from importhorizon originally for $285

But looking around the cheapest I can find elsewhere is $400-500.

Did I get a true DC JDM style 4-1 or did I recieve a knock-off. I don't know why this never came to my attention when I got the original.

 

damn... that doesnt look like a dc to me... i bought one like in ur first link.. . a stainless one..

dc's are usually ceramic coated or brushed.. im guessing...

 

yah.....I actually have a brushed stainless one. Maybe I didn't get it from there afterall; but I could have swore that I did.

 

The one for $285 in the first link is a ceramic coated header. The same header in the 2nd link is only $320, same header in the 3rd link is $380. So where are you getting it's $400-500? If you did in fact get a brushed finish one from the 1st link, then it was $500 from that 2nd and 550 from the 3rd link.

the one in the first link is NOT ceramic coated..its stainless steel...
DC only has ceramic and brushed... unless they came out w/ a stainless one...

the one that he bought from the first link is STAINLESS STEEL therefor its not a DC! like i said... unless DC started making them stainless... hope this helps. =D

but hey..if it has the DC STAMP..then ur good...

Look at the part number for the $285 header in link 1, its an AHC6612 that's the same part number for the ceramic coated header in both links 2 and 3. The photo in link 1 is obviously of a SS header, but the OP said he bought a $285 header from link 1. If he did in fact get a Polished SS header for $285 instead of a ceramic coated header than he got one hell of a deal cause an AHS6612S goes for almost $600 look here, at the very bottom of the page

so the question is..does he have a ceramic coated one or the SS one? but my guess is that more than likely its a true DC . .if it has the badge and all.

 

Contact DC sports and ask the if importhorizon is an authorized DC dealer. I did that with a shady buddyclub seller and BC confirmed that they were not an authorized dealer.
