Default Hondata IM gasket (or similar) question

Seems like this would be the place to ask since I'm running an itr im and my head is ported to match...

Does Hondata or another company make a c5 specific gasket, or do I just need to port match one of the b16 ones? I've always used the p73 when I've replaced it and it seems like I've seen a specific (isolating) one somewhere.

Gotta remove the manifold to do some stuff in the firewall area and thought I'd throw one in the mix while I'm in there... I also like the idea that its reusable.

You should not have to port match the gasket. Just get the regular hondata one for the itr and you'll be fine.

Ok, so there is a seperate one for itr then... they have b16a and b18c5 in the same box on their website, I thought that meant there was only one gasket.

Thanks

Itr manifolds have larger runners and the head is ported to match though.

The Hondata gasket can be easily cut to match. It is a fairly soft plastic (Teflon?) and a sharp razor can be used.

Stainless steel studs, washers and nuts will also help fight heat transfer from the head.

I use Dow Corning Silicone Vacuum Grease (never hardens, good to 600 degrees) to seal it.

There is another gasket out there, that I believe is a harder, possibly phenolic material. Haven't seen one yet.

Factory ITR cylinder heads are NOT port matched to the intake manifold.
